Workshop Sign Up Form
We are so excited to welcome you to A Joyous Juneteenth in a few weeks! This form is for ticket-holders to indicate their preferences to attend one of the workshop offerings described below. We will follow up to confirm registration and additional details.
Wild Seed | Lessons in Denkyem (adaptation) from seed keeper and elder Boneetta Adeeb of Ujamaa Farming Coop (45 mins) Shell and prepare seed while enjoying this story forward session. This seed circle will center our history as keepers with the ability to adapt both plant and self to new and harsh environments. Hear about the ancestral methods being employed to adapt some of the food staples we love to new environments being shaped by climate change.
After the session, you can shop Ujamaa’s seed collection and support the furthering of their work.
Reclaiming the right to protect ourselves | A more intentional firearm safety workshop (45 mins) Alan Thompson will share his experience, basic knowledge and framework around firearm ownership in this short but informative introductory workshop. This workshop is meant to create an opportunity to ask questions and get informed in an intentional communal environment.
Wine and Vinegar Making | Chef and Farmer Bernard of Nebedaye Farm (time) In intimate groups you will be guided through curating small batches of wine or vinegar that will be featured on the menu of a future supper. Choose from additional ingredients like cardamom and toasted peppercorn to make a batch uniquely yours.
